Sally,
Was the call you received from McGonagle identified as coming from 911, because there are MANY telephone services available to politicians, vendors, bill collectors, etc. I keep getting automated calls from mortgage companies...it doesn't mean it's from 911. |

Sally, it came from an automated phone service. I did the prudent thing and asked McGonagle about it after I started reading about the BS that was being posted. I do not know this, I didn't think to ask, but I will assume it was paid for by the Committee to elect McGonagle. I received four automated calls election day, one from Mr Keverian, one from Joe, one from Mayor Hanlon and one from Carlo. I am also assuming, Carlo's campaign committee paid for his automated calls. |

That could be. I did recieve one from Carlo also. I was just wondering if it had to be the reverse 911.

I read this in the paper and am shocked. I didnt read everything thoroughly, so please excuse the ignorance, but what reason was given besides eliminating a position that has been held for 12 years. I know about political payback and a new administration coming in. To me, the new administration should have done this, if they wanted to eliminate the position. I don’t know why it was done now. By law, can you just eliminate a city position for no reason? If there are other reasons as being speculated, will that ever get made public or is it a privacy issue? |

Hallowed Dreams, if I am understanding the charter correctly, the department head position cannot be eliminated without a vote of the Board of Alderman. That vote never took place. The person holding the position can be let go. I think I have it right. |

George had a heart condition - he will be fine. He is still very pissed off (his words..."Don't trust any of them")and said some very nice things about Stat who during an event at the State house apparently, where there was an event welcoming all the new mayors. Stat brought Carlo to meet the CURRENT SPEAKER, who gave him a verbal lashing for "what was going on over there in Everett". Carlo said he didn't know about it and had nothing to do with the decision. He was then told that if he didn't he should have. |

Court, didn't Carlo vote "yes" in that vote of confidence for Mr Keverian that the city council took? I'm confused, where does he stand on the firing of Mr Keverian? He seems to have flip flopped on this issue a couple of times. |

This is just my opinion and I could be wrong but I think Carlo gave Mr. Keverian a vote of confidence for his years of political service at the State House and in Everett. I’m not defending what was done to him but how could Carlo trust him when he went on an all out campaign for Joe McGonagle? They say the position has been eliminated. I say, wait and see if it gets filled. Then you know they just ousted him. |

What's to trust Tails? The Speaker is more than qualified for the job he's been doing and that should be the end of it.
Are you suggesting because he supported Joe he would do something that would hurt the city and jeopardize his reputation to get back at Carlo? That's absurd! |

Why would they eliminate a position when that office was already down on staff and they were entering one of their busiest times of the year? It make no sense. |

Carlo stated in the local press that he supported Mayor Hanlon's firing of Mr. Keverian. He did participate in the vote of confidence for George...and so it would seem that young Carlo has had a change of heart. It's likely to be the first of many. |
