Court4Fred, You are right on the money about Deb O'Neil, she is all business & is truly one of the most caring people I know. Her predecessor was horrendous. Not to bring up a sore subject, but her only qualification was being Ragucci's cousin. She was always looking for something to better herself & not the community. She also had no administrative skills & wore her poor secretary down. Let Deb stay, she is great. |

I will trade Henderson for DeCoste. My mistake.
My other picks stay firm.

Mr Keverian didn't get a two week notice, more like two minutes. I really don't know how it is usually handled when a new mayor comes in. Does anyone out here know?
Tails, I agree with you, though, it doesn't seem right that some of these employees don't know if they will have a job or not in two weeks. |

I believe I mentioned previously that (as I understand it) the mayor elect generally requests a letter of resignation from all department heads and their resume. To date, this has not been done and, as Tails stated, no one knows where they stand. As far as two weeks notice goes, that's easily covered by two weeks pay in lieu of notice.
I've heard Carlo hasn't been seen around City Hall very much lately and members of the transition team haven't seen him either. This is not what I'd call an auspicious start! |

justme, from what I read in a post by Tetris, Carlo has a sprained knee. He wasn't able to attend last nights BOA meeting, either. |

I don't know when he sprained his knee massdee, but I'm referring to him not being around much for the past few weeks. |

The person I know who works in city hall said the same thing. Not only has no one heard anything from Carlo but not even Hanlon. Hanlon has things he wants to point out to Carlo and Carlo is laying low or something. I can understand a sprained knee but he can call because he’s not walking into a level entry position. He’s going to report to work on January 9th and say “huh” Oh no, I hope it’s not going to be “here we go again”

I do know Carlo was at the Alderman's meeting 2 weeks ago. So, the sprained knee happened between then and now. If he isn't keeping in touch with City Hall, how does he think he will be ready to take over the corner office.
Tails, I hope you are wrong, we really don't need more of the same. I'm looking for a "new beginning" not "here we go again." |

I honestly do not feel that Carlo is capable of being Everett's Mayor. He is probably overwhelmed by the responsibility already. As I have said before, he is a child in an adult body.
He should be a donut hall every day discussing protocol with Hanlon and department heads prior to his taking office.
I know everyone is trying to be positive, but I have a very bad feeling about this.......

Well Miss Emile and the pup I think you should keep those feelings to yourselves and give the kid a chance. Yes he is younger than the previous mayor but lets face it the Mayor is older than Most. He should have retired a century ago but couldn't until he won his little game. Well he won the sit but sucked at it Big Time. |

Emile, I am one of those who is trying very hard to be positive but Carlo is not making it easy. If he is starting out not learning the ins and out of City Hall and not letting people know their fates as far as their positions go......well, that is just not a good way for a "new beginning." I hope we are all wrong about our feelings and he fools us all. |

Miss Head,
I am not comparing ages, but rather, Carlo's immaturity.
It is very obvious during the multitude of alderman meetings that he is not mayoral material.
I am still in shock that the voters of Everett elected him.
He will be a laughingstock at the various state and national Mayor conferences.
Carlo has already been admonished by the State Speaker of the House for not taking action to circumvent Keverian's firing.
Off to a bad start already.
What a shame for Everett.
