She kinda reminds the Pup of Danny DeVito in the movie role (not the cartoon)of the Penguin in the Batman movie.

The resemblance is uncanny.

I thought they would be up at city hall by now. I wish the swearing in ceremony had been televised live.

The ceremony ran until about 8:45 PM....the meetings will probably start soon...I'll post some observations as soon as I catch my breath.

It appears that Jack Doyle was indeed working at the ceremony...probably won't see him on TV, but it appeared to be him (I was in the balcony) dressed in a monkey suit playing the role of usher. During the budget process when the city council was looking to cut his hours, the city clerk presented a plan that would have Doyle doing more work in the city clerk's office. May be that came to pass even though the budget wasn't cut.

Spotted in the crowd; Vetrano, Sheehan, Pedulla and Hart. Make of that what you will.

Joe King decided to skip the event but did show at the organizational meeting.

Mayor DeMaria got a rousing response when he was first announced and through out the ceremony as well.

Mayor Hanlon also got a rousing response when he was introduced. The city clerk mentioned that it was the first time that he could remember that an outgoing mayor attended the inauguration of his successor.

Carlo's speech was OK...didn't give any details that we are looking for. The thing that did impress me was that Carlo admitting that he had been in the auditorium the last four days practicing his speech. I give him credit for realizing his limitations and attempting to do something about it. Seemed a bit thrown by the fact that there an extra microphone and not as much room on the podium as when he was practicing and also for initially forgetting to recognize Congressman Markey. But as I said, I thought had he did fine for what it was.

I am hoping Vetrano, Sheehan, Pedulla and Hart were there for support of the outgoing mayor and not because they are getting jobs with the new administration. I can't believe Jack Doyle was there ushering. He should have been ushered out of city hall not ushering guests into the inauguration.

Thanks for the update, Tetris.

massdee, I think that unfortunately, you will be right about jobs for some of the more notable attendees you mention.

Tetris, unfortunately, Carlo has already shown by his performance on stage tonight that he is not mayoral material. He should be displaying confidence to the taxpayers that he is the right man for the job, not acting like a buffoon.

This will be hilarious to see and a disaster for the City.

Emile,

I have been an outspoken critic of Carlo in the past; I'm still not a fan. I can certainly understand where you're coming from but I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

I believe Tetris told me a few days ago that the ceremony will be airing at eleven, tonight. I'm going to try to stay up and watch it.

I am also trying to give Carlo a little lead way. I want him to do a good job. We all need him to be smart??? His supporters have a lot of trust in him, I hope they are correct.

You people have nothing to complain about when it comes to city politics, all you people want to do is B***h about everyone and what is wrong. If you don't like the way things are being done then do something about it. RUN FOR OFFICE!!!!!! if you haven't done so you don't know how hard it is, or how hard it is to hold and appointed position and really work at making changes. And if any of you really knew how the real-world of politics works you would also know that there is a lot more behind the scenes then most people see. It is just like running a big corporation, you need to give a little to get a little. Mayor DeMaria has only been Mayor for a few short hours, lets give him a chance before knocking him down. I was at the event tonight and I saw more people there tonight then I have seen in a long time, including the Ragucci admin, and events like Veterans day and the Tree lighting along with the other events held through-out the year.

Tetris, Did Sheehan, Pedulla, & Ventrano arrive late or did they go on the taxpayers dime ($5.00)? They were all supposed to be working until 7:30 last night.
