Word is out on the street, Robert Van Campen is telling people that he is going to run for Mayor in the next election. A little premature, don't you think? Carlo hasn't even taken office yet.

Massdee, I am personally grateful to hear this news. I don't think it is premature. I believe it is simply letting Carlo, along with hanlon and his cronies, know that he is watching their every move. I have never been a great fan of RVC, but based on what I hear and read about our new administration, I'll be among the first in line to support him. Under no circumstances should hanlon be a part of Carlo's team. I don't care what he owes him.

Once again, (I don't know why I bother) Hanlon will not be a part of the DeMaria administration.

Hanlon could end up being the least of it. If some of the other department heads are left in place or given another city job, now that could be an even bigger problem. What I have been hearing, and not from my "source" is Hanlon is looking for a position in Community Development. If you listened to the Alderman meeting when they were discussing the stadium, you heard Hanlon say, he would stay on and work on it. Anyway, that was my impression. Of course, I can be incorrect.

AVGMOM,
Carlo is easily influenced, as you well know. He will be easily manipulated by Thibeault, Hanlon, and anyone else with a stronger personality.

You know how it is. You are way to close to this.

I don't know if it will be so much manipulation, or, who he owes. I think a great number of the voters who supported Carlo, are going to end up being disappointed. Just my opinion.

Oh, I was sick of it long ago, justme. I think all we can do at this point is see how things play out in January. I've also heard that Mayor Hanlon will have a role to play in the new administration, but I'm waiting to see what actually happens when the time comes.

I've heard community development too but I'm hoping it was wishful thinking on his part.

He wasn't at Carlo's fundraiser on Wednesday. I thought that was a good sign............

Stop blaming Ragucci.....It's been two years past.

Hanlon wants community development...He can taste it......why do you think he's helping Carlo's transition so much?

Hanlon wants to stay on.

If Carlo is what his supporters say, Carlo will not allow Hanlon or his "political hacks" stay in the new administration.

That will show what kind of man (or child) Carlo is.

I agree completely Emile!

I honestly think if Carlo keeps hanlon or his hacks, in any capacity, he can start looking for a new job. We'll have another unpleasant two years and consecutive one term mayors!

He needs to clean house and show the taxpayers that he cares more about them and this city than his friends and supporters.

Hanlon in Community Develpoment? HIs administration did nothing in that respect over the last two years. Best he could do was bring in a tree fine. Oh, that won't work, he tried that already. Bring in someone with fresh ideas and some energy.

Walking Eagle wants to rehabilitate his "image" somehow, by working in community development. Someone should tell him that you can't put a shine on a sneaker.

back to topic...rvc running provides me no solace. demaria will be hard to unseat because of the lengths he will go to to please those in power. look at wood waste--didn't they practically pay for his campaign? AND, if rvc was so diligent to watch what was going on, one would ask, was he sleeping the last 2 years.

no, nothing but losers to choose from in this city...pretty sad.

Who cares if Hanlon is in Community development. If he can help then so be it, the people of Everett only decided they did not want him for Mayor. He still has a lot of contacts & a lot of friends, not just from being Mayor, but from being City Clerk. If he can help get a new stadium or get Tele-Com City going, then let him. It's time for us to get back together, let's give Carlo a chance & see what he can do for us, then if you are not happy in two years vote him out. All this negativity before he starts is good for no one.

italianmoe, I am all for giving Carlo a chance, but if he keeps Hanlon or any of his hacks in any shape or form, he will blow it. If you listen to the people of Everett, they do not want Mayor Hanlon at City Hall. His days at City Hall have come and should be gone. When he didn't take either first or second place in the primary, I think the message was loud and clear. I would like to see Carlo start fresh with new people and new ideas.

Massdee, I agree with you about Carlo, but not about Hanlon, I guess that's okay. We can agree to disagree. I am all for Carlo & fresh new people & ideas. I just wish he had been a little bit more forthcoming on who he will be letting go. Even if we don't like them, they are still people who will need some type of employment to support themselves & their families. I think he should give them a little advance notice.
