Italianmoe; Anyone who works a non-union position, who was brought in by an outgoing mayor, to replace his predecessors’ hire, know their tenure is only as long as the mayor who brought them onboard. (Wow! That was a mouthful.) They knew going in the hazard associated with accepting a position. Now it’s time for them to face the consequences of their decision.
I’d like to see Carlo do the right thing (in my mind anyway) and keep those people doing a good job, and replace those who aren’t. Forget about replacing people just because he can and fill the positions that need to be filled with qualified people. If he happens to have a supporter with the right background, that’s fine, but he should hire based on qualifications and ability, nothing else!
I know people talk about trust, but frankly, I don’t buy it. If the city solicitor, parking clerk, treasurer, auditor, whoever, doesn’t “support” the mayor where does trust come in to play? They won’t do a good job because they supported someone else? Then terminate them for cause. The only positions that trust comes in to play are the mayor’s aid and personal assistant. Anything else is, IMHO, political bull!

You don't want a man who was an incompetent mayor to be incompetent in community development. You don't. His contact list is as deep as his knowledge of community development - like a mud puddle. He was a disorganized city clerk, and he has absolutely no experience in community development. I fail to see what the man brings to the table.
Regaring those who have to support their families - you do realize that Mayor Hanlon, John Krusevich, Don Andrew, et al - are long past retirement age and can take their pensions. |

| I know there are some ready for retirement, but there are others that aren't. I also know it is a gamble to take an appointee job that could only last 2 years, however it was quite clear from the get go who Ragucci was letting go & it was just as clear who Hanlon was keeping. Carlo hasn't said one way or the other. He may keep some & get rid of others. All I was saying is that being in limbo isn't good for anyone no matter how much you are hated. Peolple need to get on with their lives & knowing whether or not you will have employment at the first of the year is a major concern for some. There are a few people who would like to stay, and as of yet they have no indication as to their outcome. There are the others that know their days are numbered, and if they don't they are dumber than I thought & there are still the others that know they shouldn't stay but could be kept. Who knows, only Carlo. |

| I don't remember any of the former Mayor's making public who he will let go before he takes office. Did that happen? I am sure most people who were appointed by a mayor, know if they are staying or not. Of course, this time around it is a little different, since Hanlon endorsed Carlo. Hanlon could pressure Carlo into keeping people on that Carlo really wouldn't want in his administration. Things should be getting very interesting in about a month from now. |

Taylor,
John is outgoing and he is not acting like it. He has been taking control over the Main Street Fire Victims Funds, which I'm not sure as a Mayor this is his role. It should be in the hands of Human Services. There are other things he is doing but I can not mention
them at this time.

The Mayor has to trust his team no matter what position they are in.
In the past the Treasure went against McCarthy and gave information that helped the Ragucci camp, then he went against Ragucci and gave information to Hanlon camp, I know this for a fact. Plus the Auditor
had the information about free cash and did not tell Hanlon.
Italianmoe,
Get over it. These people will collect unemployment and find better jobs that is the way it goes in the Everett political life! Stop acting like people are dieing.
Carlo wants to be a GREAT Mayor, so lets give him a chance.
John is not staying but he wants to. Lets hope all the rest of
Hanlon's taxpayer thief's go too! |

It is not true Ragucci did pass a lot of information
on to Hanlon. He had a great transition team. That is a fact!
David was and is a gentelman and you could not shine his shoes!
A Mayor should not be involved in handeling donated funds to fire victims! A lot of people are concerned for those who lost their homes in that fire it was in all our neighborhoods. Not yours! So why don't you go back to your neighborhood and get out of ours! We are sick of you and your bull! You lost now go away. The best thing that Carlo can do for this City is get rid of you.
Carlo has his own friends, family, and contacts. He does not need John hanging around! Now go away, we can't wait till January and a
NEW BEGINING without you! |

John was the one with the vendetta, he ran because of his
hatred of another man. He never wanted the job and it showed.
He hired people like you that also have hatred in your heart.
Carlo wants to make Everett a better place to live he doesn't have
a vendetta! He is a good man with a kind heart.
So again take your hatred and get out of our City! |

You have the name wrong. I do know Joanne.
She was never a Secratary and still is not.
Unlike you, she is a homeowner and taxpayer in this City.
She does everything and anything to help the people of Everett
and she has made a positive impact in a lot of people's lifes.
I was in City Hall when she was working long hours,so again you do not know what you are talking about, you were off hurting and meddling in innocent people's lifes.
Get out of Everett and leave these good hard working people alone.
Don't you get it people like Hanlon, it is you they hate!

| Wanda bee Why so dramatic? I never even made it sound like they were "dieing." Why are you so nasty to everyone? The only reason I can think of is we are all hitting a sore nerve with you. It would be so much nicer if you would stop with the theatrics and nastiness and carry on a mature conversation. That little blurb about the Main St. fire was way off base, you make it sound like if you're not from Everett than you can't help out. Just because someone is not from this neighborhood doesn't mean their help is not wanted. |

Sorry if you think I was dramatic or nasty, because I was not.
But the blurb about Main Street Fire was due to the fact that Janice Vatrano aka Taylor made a statement that only the Mayor cared about them and that is not true a lot of people still want to help them.
Anyway, have a great Holiday. I'm leaving town and the snow.

Don’t twist my words just to excuse your childish behavior. I never said Mr. Hanlon was the ONLY one that cared about the fire victims. It was YOU that started the whole thing using a tragedy just to talk smack about someone personally.
Then it was YOU that got very nasty with your response posted 12/19/2007 3:07:27PM. Telling people to get out of YOUR city. Are you alright?
Say what ever you want…I am not Janice…However, I do know Janice. She is a hard worker and has been for years and you will never come close to her work ethic.
