Hi All,
I went up on Tuesday and got the 3 stickers for me and my husband. It was easy and quick. The city could always send out one of those automated phone calls to inform people. The schools use them for closings and holiday reminders. The people running for office use it. It makes a lot of sense to send it out that way as well as the other ways they already had in place. I for one do not watch ECTV and it's because I have a satellite dish. But I do read the papers every week. And I also read this blog which usually gives a lot of info. I don't have any sympathy if you don't know about it. People don't pay attention and only care about what goes on with themselves. If you don't know about it while it's free you should pay more attention to what goes on in this city. Especially since this is YEAR 3 of the parking stickers!!!!! :) |

| Has it been in any of the papers? If it has then I missed it. I only know about it from reading it here. The only time I think to turn on ECTV is for the meetings. I guess I will have to check ECTV more often. |

| I agree people need to take more responsibility but more should have been done to get the word out. I did see flyers on the cars on Main Street but not my side Street. I also feel that when the tax bills were mailed out, they could have at least inserted them in there to give some people more notice. School, police, city hall has the reverse 911 service so why cant they use that for something important like this? It also will help Mr. Kelly. |

No massdee, it hasn't been in the papers yet. As I understand it, they used reverse 911 last year but didn't feel it was of much help. There is quite a large number of people who don't have land lines and reverse 911 doesn't access cell phones.
I agree that using the quarterly tax bills to provide information would be extremely helpful however, they don't go to every household in the city so there will still be uninformed people.
The point is, no matter how much is done, there is always going to be someone who "didn't know" I don't think Mr Kelly, or his staff, should be blamed for that. We all need to take responsibility for ourselves and, as has been pointed out, this is year three. Isn't it time for people to stop claiming ignorance? |

| 2011 Parking Stickers will be at city hall on Monday Jan 3. Free for the month of Jan. and Feb. So here is my question, why pay the parking meter people for the two months when they do nothing.. just like the the day meter people, all they do is ride around the city. |

| yeah, I wish I had their job. what consist of full time, one leaves at noon, time the others screw when it gets dark out, and then the nite crew signs in and that's that. So why have them work if the meters are free till Jan? new stickers take effect until March 11, waste of money, waste of money. |
