| This is my guess....my opinion...but how much do you want to bet that Mayor DeMaria will publish the same thing...but lower amounts. I just hope the right questions are asked from the board. |

| Was doing a little research this morning and found that the City of Somerville has financial statements for FY05 and FY06, that appear to be the result of the their annual audits, on their web site as well as the budget documents for both FY07 and FY08 (both of which are over 400 pages). Since our mayor is such a big fan of the Somerville's mayor, perhaps he can be persuaded to provide us with the same type of information. |

Seems Southbridge is having a rally tonight concerning the dump that our new Budget Director was responsible for. This will be the future Everett if we dont stop this now.

Join residents of Southbridge, Sturbridge, and Charlton for a rally to support the Board of Health and show them that the community is concerned about the threat to public health. Southbridge Landfill is about to become the largest raw garbage landfill in Massachusetts! Casella Waste Systems plans to increase the permitted raw garbage to over 400,000 tons of municipal solid waste - raw garbage - there each year including Boston and Springfield’s trash.
Residents of Sturbridge, Southbridge and Charlton have been complaining for years about the odors from the Southbridge Landfill. If these problems intensify, all the neighborhood homes within 3-4 miles of the dump could be devalued.
Where: Casaubon Senior Center, Southbridge
When: 6PM on Thursday, March 27th

Sorry, haven't read the posts on this topic.....was the dump there before this guy took over as town manager?
Does anyone know what this man did prior to becoming the Town Manager? Was his back ground in finance?
Does he have experience working with large budgets? |

To me it doesn’t matter whether Clayton Carlisle had prior financial experience or not and all you have to do is Google him (Clayton Carlisle Southbridge) or (Clayton Carlisle Casella Waste) and you will see what the town thought of him and arrogance with the landfill. He was not for the Town at all and to imply that he’s not connected to Thibeault would be an insult to people’s intelligence.
There has to be one person that lived closer that could have been a competent budget director and how convenient is that…he has knowledge of landfills. The Mayor is young and it would have been nice to have someone out of college that needs a job. Clayton Carlisle certainly did not need the job.
You know, when you put your faith and trust in a man that bold face lied to your face…it hurts. You feel like a fool.
But most important, Everett does not need another Waste Station or dump or anything that pertains to waste. We already have a waste station that does not abide by DEP rules here and in Newburyport. There are too many residents in this city for that type of business, even if it was with another person that would abide by the rules.
What ever happened to the Condos and Water Taxis down lower Broadway? There were so many promises made and I am not hearing one of them. All I am hearing is “What can we do for Thibeault” and I’m sick of it. Check out the video from NECN just today and what the people of Southbridge are going though. I don’t want to see that happen here. We don’t deserve this.

soooooo......he could be great at budgeting/forecasting etc.....but we don't want him because he was apparently a poor leader?
Btw......HUGE different between a dump and a transfer station.....
Condos and Water Taxis aren't ever coming to lower broadway so give it up.....who in their right mind would buy a condo next to 2 power plants, prolerizer and a sludge facility???? The die is cast for lower Broadway, embrace it. |

NO...McGonagle was saying that there was going to be an open air dump down on lower Broadway......which is very wrong.
You could have a chest full of gold coins to spend on developing the land down there into condos and it wouldnt do you any good. Nobody would buy a condo there...it is contaminated land next to a power plant, down the street from an oil tank farm and overlooking a sludge facility.
The best plan is to let the current WW site move to an indoor facility next to the sludge plant and then use the old WW site and city yards for commercial and retail development. |

I'd also like some clarification please. I keep reading here, and on the Mirror, that the deal is done and Thibeault will have his dump/transfer station/waste facility (or whatever else it may be called) on lower Broadway.
Is this fact or speculation?
If it's fact, where can I obtain the official information?
If it's speculation, please be aware that the number of people posting here, and on the Mirror, is a very small percentage of Everett's total population..............And a few of them post merely to stir up the pot. Which is why we have at least one new member who appears to be here for the purpose of damage control..................

| If the guy from the waste is not folowing the rules then why move the place to another place. all you do is move the problem from one place to another. The problem will be out of parkway and to the people that live down there and around there. |

Joel..you wouldnt be moving the problem from one place to another if you were moving it from outside to inside. That's called solving the problem. |

What about the ongoing problems on Boston Street?(Parkway) Mr Thibeault has never addressed them, even after the city and the state made their positions clear. Mr Thibeault's past actions here in Everett and in Newburyport makes it impossible for many of us to believe the man.
I could be wrong, but wasn't it Carlo who brought up a marina, Condo's and shopping malls for the lower Broadway area? |
