I just went into Mayor DeMaria's web site from the election and listened to his video. When he talks about lower Broadway, he never mentions a waste transfer station down there. He does mention shopping malls, Condo's and a marina.

Yup, I know. He also blamed John Hanlon for not working with Thibeault because of petty politics (claimed Thibeault was a friend of Ragucci) when in fact, this issue is the one that both Ragucci and Hanlon agreed on. Both would not deal with Thibeault over all his non-compliance issues. Both Ragucci and Hanlon cared more about the citizens of this city's well being than the almighty buck. So do I, and I'm sure many others do too.

Speaking of John Hanlon, I thought he was promised a position as a consultant for the Community Development office?

I was just reading the Mirror, someone posted that the Attorney Generals Office is looking into Thibeault. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it true?

massdee, there were a few statements made about hanlon being placed in Community Development as part of the "deal" Carlo made with him. Obviously, like so much else posted here and on the Mirror, that was thrown around to stir up trouble and [hopefully] change votes.

My personal opinion is Carlo made promises or a "deal" with Mayor Hanlon. Then once Carlo was elected and he had what he wanted Carlo did not keep his word.

Anything is possible Marie and we all have a right to our own opinion.

That said, I think john hanlon still has enough friends/supporters that if Carlo had backed out of a "deal", that information would have become public knowledge pretty quickly.

I don't think it's newspaper worthy so if you know someone or know John Hanlon, ask him.

The only time I have seen Mayor Hanlon since the inauguration was the tape of the Saint Patrick's dinner. I do remember at one of the meetings Mayor Hanlon mentioning something about hoping to work on the stadium upgrades. That sticks out in my mind because a lot of us felt it should be Frank Nuzzo involved with the stadium.

I have a question. Does every business in the city need a license to operate? Many times over the years I have heard members of the BOA threaten not to renew licenses if the company was not in compliance. My point is, since Wood Waste has not been in compliance for many years, why are they allowed to operate.

Not sure the answer to that but someone with inside information is getting testy on the Mirror. Gee...who would have this inside info??

12:17.......When all is said and done, he will only have one facility....and it will ne enclosed. Don't listen to the nitwits here trying to scare you into thinking it would be anything more than what I have said. Only one facility...inside....freeing up plenty of land for development.

It would seem the wheels are spinning for this man without the public or BOA and CC involved. Thibeault needs to get out of town, not helped out. It is so gross what he's doing and has been doing.

It is also my understanding that Thibeault will have to go through the conservation commission in order to move the waste station because it will be too close to the water. Anyone know if this has been done or not? We need to find out who will be approving permits...if this will have to through the conservation commission......and how on earth can anything be done if he is being investigated by the attorney general..

and the conservation commissions argument would be something like this:

The indoor waste transfer facility shouldn't go near the water because there is a danger to the environment.

At that point, a first year law student would stand up and say.....more dangerous than prolerizer who the city just entered into a TIF agreement with? Or more dangerous than the sludge facility that is even closer to the water? or more dangerous than the oil tankers delivering oil every day up and down the Chelsea Creek?

You people have no argument other than "We dont like him". Come up with some new material please....

Concerning the move or building a new Waste Transfer Station on Route 99 please note:

We already have air quality and odor problems from the current Waste Transfer Station already in Everett.

Now we will have more trucks down on Route 99 which will add to the traffic hazard that we currently have. Please remember, we will be having road construction there in 2009 along with the reconstruction of the bridge.

After skimming through M.G.L. Chapter 111 Section 150B I have a problem with the assignment for the site, exactly where the site will be for public health, danger, safety. They want to put this transfer station right near LNG. Also, the board of health has to assign this development per M.G.L. and they can refuse it also. With the prior history of this company and noncompliance, I can not see this being approved and point taken previously about being close to the waters.

Come on Hallowed.....atleast make some sense...

It's unsafe for an enclosed waste transfer facility to be more than a quarter of a mile from an LNG tanker.......but the LNG tanker can park and offload next to giant crane loading scrap iron onto a ship?
