This is also a post from tetris that I am moving here.

tem #1 - I thought that a lot more meetings were going to be held on this subject before the sale went thru? What's the need for this now if that statement is true? Maybe I'll need to re-think the praise that I have already given out on the handling of this subject.

Item #2 - I'd hope to see a lot more detail provided on how this loan is going to be paid off and when the city may expect to see any meaningful revenue from the project.

Item #3 - I'd hope to see at least some questions asked like, if this is the way the city is going to deal with this issue going forward, how will it be handled in future years when the free cash needed to do it is not available? Are there any other possible solutions?

Item #15 - Let's hope that they can finally move this issue forward in one way or another. I know that I'm sick of seeing it in this or similar forms on the agenda almost every week.

Items #18, 19 and 20 - Glad to see the ball being picked up on these issues.

I would have expected to see the two items concerning the elimination of the board of fire commissioners that were referred out to the city's solicitor's office at the last Common Council meeting come back at this meeting. They must have been more problematic than I thought. Oh well, maybe in two more weeks.

Item number 1.... is this the same buyer Hanlon brought to the city council last year and was unanimously voted no?

Item number 11....I hope we have a VSO by then and they dont make this celebration all political.

Item 13...I am in favor of a dog park however, I have a problem with pit bulls. I know there are some that are okay and they have good masters but I knew someone who's cat was killed and we all know they attack people and have killed people. Who will be responsible if God forbid, something happens? That's my only question. As far as the poop issue, I think "most" dog owners are responsible and would love having a dog park and would not jeopardize it over being lazy.

Item 16...How many times must we re-visit the parking over and over. Unfortunately, you do need a committee because they cant all agree. (speaking of cant all agree...just wait for the Budget)

Tails,

Item #1
Massdee and I tried to figure after the meeting that was held recently if this was the same buyer. Since that information was never disclosed last summer, we could only assume so. As we could recall, the amount of the offer was the same and the buyer said that he had been working with Community Development for over a year. The authorization for a sale was killed last summer because it came on the heels of the budget battles, no formal plans were presented and it seemed that Hanlon was trying to rush it through to cover the revenue shortfall that was coming. I don't think that the recent meeting settled anything and no formal plan was presented there either. Tonight's vote (and next week's, if it passes tonight) will probably end up being a very telling moment for those of us that follow this kind of thing.

Item #16
What good is a committee if they can't agree on anything? What they need is a process/formula that weighs all of the factors and determines what streets get done without any political involvement. I thought that I heard it mentioned at one of the meetings that there was something like this in place at one time but seems to have fallen by the wayside. They need to revisit it, update it if necessary and adhere to it religously.

Is it possible to continue this conversation in Common Council 2008 thread? I have found it so much easier to find things when I need them with all of the meetings in one thread. It also makes it easier to follow the flow of items and conversation from meeting with them all in one thread. I know the thread is getting long. The other alternative would be to have a new thread for every meeting with the date of the meeting in the topic; all of the threads should be in the same forum though. Either would work for me. What does everyone else think?
