The new Chief of Staff is Michael Buckley. He is a former aide to Mayor Curatone of Somerville. |

I heard the new Chief of Staff's salary is $81,000.00 and he was making $61,000.00 when he left Somerville.

It's funny, the memo of his resignation was 11/24/08 and he said...quote- "I will not be going too far and hope to remain in contact with you going forward."
Sounds like he knew then, all sounds like a Curtatone favor to me. |

His Somerville salary was more than that Massdee. See Page 34 at the following link. The Somerville FY09 budget is 496 page document with detail plans for the fiscal year. Impressive!

Sorry, that was a typo. It should have read $69,000.00, the actual salary was $69,335.69.

This is what I have heard on lay offs on the Everett Police Department. (unconfirmed)
Starting on May 1st, our Police Force will be going from 96 officers to 89 officers. Then on July 1st, it will be going down again, from 89 officers to 78 officers. All Captains are or will be demoted. From what I am being told, there will no longer be any Captains on our Police Department.

does anyone know what is going on in this city? this is the list I was given by a very close source one of my friends who works for the city
we are losing police this is true but the mayor found out about one sgt. who was going to be let go and his words to the sgt was we have the money for your funding it's suicide they are playing with the fire, police and city workers? And what about the people who took the buy out if they figure it out it's the same about on unemployment at the end of the 26 weeks but the catch the first 2400 in non taxable under obama's package. Can I be wrong or is all this a smoke screen |

Who was the Sergeant.................Was it Vetrano? .............No surprise if that's true. He's the one that just quit, and Mazzie didn't want him back, and the mayor went over his head because he was a "friend"
Oh yea.......and he bumped two other officers from making Sergeant and the mayor promised there wouldn't be lawsuits. I'm hearing through the grapevine that there is indeed a lawsuit.
Who suffers in the end result.....the taxpayer. |

I hope the union looks closely with these decisions. Does it go by seniority or can an outstanding worker be saved?
Lets hope it does not come down to Police and Fire, at all. |
