I was told today that Joe McGonagle has pulled papers to run for Alderman at Large.
I just confirmed this by talking to Joe McGonagle.

| The Mayor is well aware of all the grievances and law suits against not only Zaniboni, but the city because of Zaniboni. He chooses to ignore them in light of the fact that he owes SOMEONE big time to keep him on. The thing is though that because he has been told so many times if anything does happen to any one because of Zaniboni, the city would take a big hit because the Mayor knows how volatile Zaniboni is & chooses to ignore it. Basically he is being negligent in his duty to protect his workers. |

Rumor has it that Frank Nuzzo resigned from the BOA last week and has been offered the rec center directors job.

I would like to know what qualifications he has to become a Code Enforcement Director.
No offense to the man, but he's retired, and it makes you wonder. Why are we not following MGL, and are you telling me there is not ONE person that needs a job in the city of Everett, that does not have the luxury to be retired, that needs a job? This screams of favors and what pension boost him and his wife just received on the taxpayers.
He's the next Dave Ravenisi. There is no difference. |

So does the Ward 1 Alderman seat get filled between now and the election and by whom? It would seem that if you filled the seat with any of the logical candidates, you'd either be upsetting additional seats or giving someone an incumbent advantage.
The charter, of course, is not definitive about this. All that it says in Section 7, Filling of Vacancies, about this situation is as follows: "A vacancy in the board of aldermen of the City of Everett may be filled by a majority vote of the board." I'm sort of leaning towards preferring that the seat remain vacant. Aldermen are voted on city wide so it doesn't really leave the ward without representation and Alderman Matewsky, even though he is the alderman at large, tends to pay special attention to Ward 1 as it is his home ward.
Any thoughts? |

| Can the board appoint Matewsky to ward 1 and someone else to the at large seat? |
