Tracy Boyd and Matt Matarazzo. Both computer people. Interesting????
As for Scott Councell.....I am shocked and appalled. I still say this has Matt Laidlaw's hands all over it. Scott does not have a mean bone in his body.
He was always courteous and there for the people of Everett. He helped the sporting events, families, students, there is no justification for this.
What happened to "If you do a good work, your job will be saved" The people that are on the council and in any mayor's office are there to serve the people....not for their own benefit.
PLEASE someone in Ward two run for Alderman!!!

Anyone who believed "If you do a good work, your job will be saved", needs their head examined! They all say what people want to hear and then it's politics as usual......... Take care of friends and family and screw the people who elected them! |

I don't understand why the Mayor is letting workers go. There are people in his administration who are making huge amounts of money a week. If they took a pay cut this couls solve some money issues for the City. With the sale of the Old City Yards and the Devens School you would think the there would be enough money coming where the Mayor wouldn't have to layoff anyone, or maybe he has more friends looking for high paying jobs and this is where the money from these sales are going to... |

I do not believe these are "layoffs" and while I agree that any mayor has the right to hire and fire, it was HIS word that if you did good work you would not be let go. He is letting people go and hiring all his friends at extremely high salaries that the city has never seen before. Scott Councell was a great worker and doesn't have a mean bone in his body but when I found out Matt Laidlaw (Jason Marcus's girlfriend's son) was hired, I had the suspicion it wouldn't be long. Marcus was on a personal vendetta with John Hanlon over his girlfriends brother. This is all the cause of Jason. People in Ward Two need to get him OUT as Alderman. He is the biggest phony up there.
Clowno DeMaria thinks we are stupid and we are not. He will spin this one as another "consolidation" but Matt Laidlaw makes $77,000.00 and he is another big salary political lackey.
He kept Scott Councell around all this time. Isnt it funny that Matt Laidlaw gets in right in time for Wood Waste, and a Jason Marcus vote. Also, it was Scott Councell that did all that work in the council chambers, and as soon as the work is done, the Mayor says "Bye Bye, don't need ya anymore" That's because his political lackeys don't know what they are doing, and I think it would have been sooner, but Simonelli raised the question at the town meeting that "no one is left up there, and how can things be okay."
He couldn't let Scott go that week because Simonelli let it be known publicly of all the missing department heads. But his lackeys are still there making the big bucks! |

I have a question. When the mayor hired Erin Deveney as his Chief of Staff and he was asked about her high salary, he justified the salary by saying Erin will also be the City Solicitor. Does anyone know if her salary has been adjusted down, since she was unable to be the City Solicitor? |

My typo.....sorry. Meant "Matt" the son.
This may not mean anything, but when Jason Marcus had one of those "Talk Shows" and Cynthia Sarnie was the guest....that show was produced by "Claire Laidlaw" I don't know why she would be involved in anyway. |

He's getting rid of all the good honest people. I REALLY wonder what's going on up there and what they don't want the public to know about! The state better step in because somethings going on up there. I would watch the bidding VERY CAREFULLY. He has pissed off all the unions, ticked off a great many constituents. Now, we are stuck with a $91,000 Executive Assistant-Chief of Staff my butt - it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck. He has fooled with the City ordinances trying to get her the City Solicitor's position, but that fell through.
He dissolves the Board of Fire Commissioners...... and here come the grievances, and I'm sure they'll be one coming from the guys on the PD Sergeants List that were pushed aside.
All these orchestrations go back to him trying to put "his people in place" so when it comes time to pay back Thibeault, he has little to no resistance and no loose lips to sink his ship.

This was posted on Topix on Saturday.
"I heard MIS lost one of it's only two employees yesterday. Did any one else hear that. Also there were 3 additional employees let go.
I think I smell outsourcing. How many more non-Everett people will be taking these jobs from qualified residents?"
No one verified this information. So with the news that Justme posted today, is the MIS department down to one or none? If it's down to none, I guess there a good chance that the function may be outsourced. Without more information, we can't tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing for the city. All that we do know that people are losing their jobs and, at least on a personal level, that's not a good thing for those involved. |

I have a feeling they will be replaced, not outsourced, but you never know. The "plan" in the beginning may be to outsource/consolidate (again) but it wont be long until they will have to hire again, and it will probably be a political lackey. In the mean time, it's the Everett residents that are getting their pink slips for no good reason. |
