The personnel director is scheduled to be gone at the end of the month. One of the other two people in the department was let go today. It would be nice to know just where the hell the city is headed? Isn't this why we have a communications director? |

Maybe we should ask Erin........... She's the one doing all Carlo's dirty work. |

He does not have the guts to do his own dirty work. He does not have the tough skin needed. That’s what Erin gets the $91,000.00 for!
He’s going through money like water up there. He had 11 million in free cash!
He's letting all Everett people go and bringing in Thibeault people. I am telling you, this is what's happening. It is not speculation and anyone can disagree and say give we should “give him a chance” and “lets give him the benefit of the doubt” but after tonight and a all these "Everett firings" this is exactly what's going on.

Well, if I haven't said it before, let me say it now........... I thought he would be a breath of fresh air for this city and expected him to do the right thing. The air is more fowl than ever and he's done nothing to help anyone except his pals and supporters. I regret voting for him and sincerely apologize. |

the other person was denise in the personal office and now I hear he will be cleaning out the collector of taxes office on the first floor. No MIS person with computers he must be going to privatize it |

We had the Denise situation covered, scamore.
If he's going to privatize MIS, I hope the people he lined up to are available immediately. I seriously doubt most of the city hall staff are comfortable doing anything more than using the programs they normally work with. If there's a system failure or problem, very few (if any) will be able to resole it on their own! |

This was posted on Topix last night. Not sure that how true it is but it seems to help to make some sense out of what has been going on at least:
"They didn't do anything, the Mayor is finally cleaning house! The 2 people in the computer dept. gone! The lady was told last week, she was hardly ever there anyway. Her boyfriend who was the director got let go today. One of the ladies in Personnel was let go today. She had a blow out with the director last week, so it was a matter of time that the ax came down on her. A young kid in code enforcement asked to be laid off. The ECTV director was let go after 14 years. 2 people down city services got voluntary retirements. One was out on a knee injury and the other was out because of a heart attack then came back to work and hurt his back. Kinda fishy when your on desk duty, he must of picked up a piece of paper! Stay tuned...."
Does anyone know if Tracy Boyd was the second person in the MIS department? That would clear up a previous question that I had. |

Yes, Tracy was in MIS & she's gone.
I question the code enforcement "layoff" information but the rest seems pretty accurate. |

Thanks Justme. I agree; someone "asking" to be laid off and it being approved wouldn't be a good thing. Someone collecting on the city dime because they asked to? There is a potential cost associated with that in higher unemployment insurance rates/percentages as well as pissing off other employees in the form of "why can't I get that deal". |

I have only lived in Everett for about a year and a half and was directed to this site while Googling the City. I can't even imagine all of these people losing their jobs with the economy the way it is. Is this Mayor concerned about people????? |
