mail systems have problems...whether or not you have an IT resource sitting next to the server is irrelevant. |

Just like the log jam up in Personnel because the Mayor replaced a knowledgable employee with a person that hasn't worked in 15 years...
What department is next... There isn't a Budget Director, Procurement Officer, MIS Department, or anyone in personnel that can answer questions regarding union and other issues...
Maybe there's another former lawyer of Thibuilt that needs a job now that the Mayor is selling him the City like the Indians sold Manhattan... |

Too much time... We have to wait until next November.
I just feel bad for the people left working at Cityhall, they never know when he is going to drop the axe... |

this is true, you never know. I heard yesterday that the chief's job is up at the end of this year and the mayor has been having interviews for a new chief, I think its a good thing we need change in the city and this is what he ran on. And I also understand that the nite crew is coming to the daytime to enforce the meters that will be going on main street, again, a great idea we need more revenue for this city and if the police allow people to block fire hydrants on norwood st then shame on them. Carlo whoever your square man is they don't tag the hydrants at all how sad it that. If the meter maid is not around the officer will not tag. I think a new chief along with revamping is necessary for our city. I am only one expressing my opinion. |

I think if the Chief leaves, it will be mutual. He's taking a lot heat right now, and I feel bad for him, he's one person, and when he's forced to accept employees that like to walk out and come back becoming a sergeant, how should he feel? |

I don't think you can blame the violence in the City on the Chief of the Department. The people that have over run our city have no regard for the law. They think that they can do whatever they want, whenever they want to.
The Federal Government needs to step up their immigration enforcement and send these people back to where they came from. Between gangs and over crowded apartments these people think they are on permanent holiday and we are footing the bill. |

Change is good, most of the time. How can we make the Chief responsible for the outbreak of crime in our city lately? Is he not putting enough police on the street? Is he not policing the police? Is he responsible for gangs coming into our city when the police HAVE TO follow the laws? I don't think so... |

Gang bangers ride around in cars blasting loud music and altering their mufflers to sound like race cars. They wear clothing and tattoos to indicate who they are. It's not hard to find them. If the police dept is not responsible for allowing them in the city, who is. |

You cant harass someone for the way they look. But, I think the noise ordinance needs to be enforced more. City government and the police need to come to the table and figure something out. I cant put the blame on one person but, something is broken in the lines of communication.
Perhaps the Mayor can hold one of his "Town Meetings" concerning "public safety only" and let the people talk, and see what we can do to help, and help them make changes. Police should be available 24/7 for any call, and I hear all the time the police are too busy for "non essential calls"...... that's crap.
I am a taxpayer and if I have some @ss outside my house blasting a radio at 1:30am, I expect the police to come down, not tell me they are too busy.
The Mayor should let the people talk on this issue and bring it all out to the table then come back with recommendations on how we can all help. |

I see the officers in patrol cars ignore the loud music and mufflers every day. EVERY DAY. I do not think I have ever seen someone pulled over for violating those laws. Is that because it is "non essential". I'm not talking about when they have sirens on, they do a good job at responding. I'm just talking about when they ride around the city in the patrol cars. What is "essential" for them to do when they are in the cars? If all they do is just ride around waiting for a call and ignore what they see, they might as well wait in the police station for calls and save on gas.

I agree with all of you, I am sick and tired of the loud music, loud cars, the scanner was hoping all weekend long with the low riders, the police chief does not live in EVERETT and I think it's time for new blook at the EPD, someone who knows what the hell is going on in this city. And I agree the Mayor should call a meeting with the citizens, hey, he cares about this city but he (the mayor) needs to care a little more. Norwood st was a mess yesterday we now have motorcycles that moved into bread and company no tickets for the hydrants I guess you have to call to complain to get a ticket issue when they should use common sense, oh hydrant block lets get out of the car and give them a ticket. It's too easy don't you think? |
