I thought all department heads were appointed but I don't see that there's much difference. They all seem to change based on who's in the corner office regardless of how good they may be at their job. Personally, I'd like to see all department heads hired and their employment terminated based on performance, not political affiliation.
I wonder if that could be part of the charter change? It sure would make a dent in the political patronage problem and could help eliminate the gross incompetence we've seen too much of recently.
Justme - Dominic Puleo was a supporter of Carlo's campaign. (Why, I'll never know) He was appointed to the housing commission, by Carlo, and is also on the Fire Fighters Reserve list, per Carlo.
I find it very suspicious that the person in question just backs out of the alderman at large race and below is the qualifications for this position, which I'm hearing she does not have.

Thanks! I just want to make sure I know who I'm not going to vote for although for that particular race McGonagle was going to get my vote anyway.

Of course he appointed Mike Mangan.
Anyone that wishes to take their blinders off can see what’s happening here and how unethical it is. I would challenge that it’s illegal too. Carlo is stacking the deck and Wood Waste will be there before you know it. I know Thibeault is actively perusing lower Broadway and will soon need city council votes. All these back room deals are despicable. I’m not saying it’s all about Wood Waste but he’s stacking the deck in hopes to make it before the charter (most likely) will change the term to 4 years. Hopefully by then, someone more fiscally responsible and with half a brain will run.

Judith Murphy, Melissa's mother, is one of the three members. Who are the others? Well I guess, if approved, Dr Connolly, Ed Connolly's son, will be the second member. Who is the third? The appointments to this Board are very important.
I am also hearing the rumors that Thibeault is still actively going after relocating Wood Waste to lower Broadway. This issue is far from being over.

I would say that DelloIacono is not a popular last name, and must be in some capacity. |

That’s exactly where this belongs in finance. This is a major problem. We were all DUPED and lied to by the mayor. We were told at the budget hearings that Colleen Mejia was being paid mid 90’s because SHE was taking over the role of Personnel Director.
If she’s not, then that money needs to be returned to fund a new salary.
Why should the taxpayers pay TWICE? For a political favor?

This piece has been to the Finance Committee and is coming back tonight with a recommendation to lay it on the table. If the rumors are true, maybe we now know why this particular recommendation was made. Seems like I may have to eat a little crow from my pre-meeting comments but I'll wait to see what actually happens tonight before I finish doing that. |

Does Colleen Majia ever know the answer to any of the Alderman's questions? I'm so sick of hearing, "I don't know". She should come to these meeting prepared. She has the agenda, she should do her homework.
#29 When did Mr Buckley become the Personnel Director?
