This gets more and more ridiculous. Who in their right minds would vote for someone that went six months without showing up to a common council meeting, but had no problem cashing the checks! What is Donofrio think he’s running for, Charter Review? What can he possible add when he stuck it to his constituents and the taxpayers?

To be fair, Ray Grace and Mike Mangan are running for multiple seats too. Mike is a nice guy but will be another that owes the Mayor, and will be in his pocket. If he ran for just Charter Review I never would have thought that. Make up your mind, do you want Charter Review, Common Council or Alderman. ONE SEAT. It's like being a road hog.

It's not right, but Jason Marcus is just a blatant disregard.

Isn't Mangan the Councilor who put paying the School Committee on the agenda? Wasn't he also on the DeMaria campaign video?

I think that if you are a newbie and haven't decided what office you are going to run for yet, it might be OK to pull more than one set of papers. It wouldn't want to sign papers for anyone who han't made up their mind yet. I'll have to remember to ask if any of them approaches me.

As far as some of the names on the list for charter commission, I have to say that I was initially disappointed with what I've heard. I was hoping that people with little or no current or past affliation with city government and those that don't have any future aspirations in holding a seat would make up the majority of names. Then, I heard a rumor that Jason Marcus had pulled papers for it. Honestly, it turned my stomache. And now, Bernie D'Onofrio! I'm sorry; that makes a total mockery out of it. Maybe he had a good reason for missing most of a year's worth of City Council meetings; but, we never heard one. And like it or not, he worked for us, or at least, the residents of Ward 4, and all of us paid his salary. I hope that these people realize what they are getting into and are doing it for the right reasons. Hopefully, something good can still come out of it.

At least a few notable names missing off of that list. Joe King, Leo McKinnon and Stat Smith. It's still fairly early but does anyone know anything about any of them?

Again, it's early; but, it doesn't look like there's much chance of change on the school committee. The only current races seem to designed to get rid of the "opposition".

His name wasn't on the list this morning, unless I missed it. I'm glad he's running again.

As of right now there are only three people running for CC in Ward 2, Sierra, Mangan and Marcus. I hope someone else pulls papers in that Ward. If not, Marcus will walk in to a CC seat. I hope someone reading here from Ward 2 considers running.

I got to meet Mrs Morris tonite as she was collecting signatures in the ward two area, I am impressed with her, I didn't realize who she was until I met her. She has great ideas for this city and the children of everett, we talked about the issues facing this city and my husband grilled her tonite on woodwaste he was telling her how his eyes were burning all day and she too stated that her breathing was bad today, we ask her where the lemon smell was cause that is what the mayor said woodwaste would do, was spray it down with lemon. I like her attitude she is for the people of everett and the citizens of this city. I will give her a chance after all we all gave Carlo a chance and look what he did with the lives of people this past week.

I am being told the seventh person to pull papers for Ward 5 for CC is Joseph Santigate. I was also told he is Lorrie Bruno's brother-in-law.

Maybe he doesn't look at it that way............. He probably doesn't see himself as any kind of a threat to her and envisions unseating someone else.
