Maybe she thought she would'nt be taken seriously if she said she was still a high school student. Could be just a rookie mistake. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now. We need any competition we can get for school committee if there is any hope for change.

Shame on Mrs Hanlon. I received a phone call from an upset family member who recently attended a senior function at the Connolly Center. Mrs Hanlon was there as well as Alderman Mc Gonagle which I guess is not unusual. Of course they were making the rounds of the tables. Alderman Mc Gonagle was shaking hands and introducing himself to everyone. Mrs Hanlon was going up to people and telling them not to vote for Alderman Mc Gonagle and would then proceed to attack his personal life not his political life his personal life. My family member was so upset she ended up telling Mrs Hanlon because of the way she was behaving that she could never vote for Mayor Hanlon again. My family member said that many seniors present felt the same way. Shame on Mrs Hanlon that is not how you conduct a political campaign. If this is any indication the campaign climate is going to be very nasty. I don't think Mrs Hanlon would like her husbands personal business used in this way. Shame Shame Shame. I hope no other campaign sinks this low.

It's pretty tough staying on the "high road" when you're covered in mud but I'm hoping the other mayoral candidates are able to do it. I expect this is just the first of many such things we're going to see and hear as we move forward. Our mayor's supporters are not known for tolerance toward people who don't agree with them.

Formerly, this is nothing new in Everett politics. It is not right and you would think the people running these campaigns would stop it. It does no one any good. I think the voters are getting sick of these underhanded tactics. I personally don't like to see anyone's personal business smeared. There is plenty of political issues out there and that is where the focus should be, especially this year with the problems this city is facing.

It appears to me that the Hanlon camp feels they are in trouble and will do whatever it takes to try to push their agenda forward. This type of campaigning simply will no longer work. Let's hope it ends.

it's joanne gregory but I think she is using her madien name parish, and don't forget about lorrie bruno ward 5 I thought yebba was ward two not three? and b. cardello is just ward 5 not alderman at large? I know it's hard to keep updating the board but why not wait until the list comes out in the paper or till the time expired to post

I am going to start to only update when I read it in the paper. I have not heard or read that Lorrie Bruno has taken out her papers yet. I believe where Sean Yebba lives, that side street running next to Dunkin Donuts near the Malden line, is Ward 3. I could be wrong and he could have moved from there. B. Cardello has taken out papers for both offices, that I am sure of.

There has to be something done to upset the "ghostly trio" of the school committee at large. Those three have done enough damage. Oh, what the hell - let's toss in Ela, too. And what is up with Ward 5? Someone not connected to the villian on Vine Street better step up!

In ward 6, I am told that Mavillio is NOT a Freddy fan. I don't know anything else about him, but that is enough for me to vote for him.

I caught the Ward 6 meeting for the first time yesterday. Mr Mavillio was one of the participants from the audience. He seemed to be prepared and well informed on the issue he was bringing forth. It was a public safety issue.
