Here's a new one. A neighbor has a family member staying with them for the summer. This person has rented a car for the time he will be here. They went up to city hall to get a visitors pass, he has to get it a month at a time. That's fine. He was told that the visitors pass is only good for parking near the vicinity of the home where he is staying. So, he asked if he happened to go out with friends to a local establishment and was there after midnight, would he get a ticket? The answer is "yes." He told her that it didn't seem right for him to pay the $25.00 for the visitors pass and then still could be ticketed if the vehicle wasn't parked near the home he was staying at after midnight. Her answer to him was, "then walk to where ever you are going."

They cannot carve an exception into this program for every little quirk that may come up. Where in Everett are you going to be after midnight? Everything closes at 1. I don't believe they ticket the main drags until after one o'clock so it's not a problem if you're going to a bar or buisness. People in other neighborhoods don't want your visitors to take up parking on their streets so that's why they restricted it to being in the vicinity of the house they are staying at.

How about this. I just bought a car and the dealer told me, if I put a sticker on the
windshield, flying monkeys will come out of the trunk. What should I do?

That's great! Once the monkeys are gone, you can use the trunk to carry your groceries.

what a farce this sticker program is when is ward five going to get done? Iam so sick on cleveland ave not being tagged espically when cars now park on the sidewalk and make it their own personal driveway. There is no rhyme or reason behind it.

Cars are not too bad in these parts. My problem is that my street is starting to look more and more like a slum. Kids toys all over the place 24/7 blocking sidewalks, in curbs, Pools full on front lawns for days at a time (when I open my blinds in the morning I just hope to NOT see a child floating face down) it is gross and these people let their kids swim in this swamp water. I have called the city many times on this and they do come down and talk to these people, however, it clears up for about a day and than the crap is all over the place again! I hate it! Some of us try very hard to keep our houses and surroundings very neat and clean. How anyone could live like that is beyond me.

I agree Lynda that is so frustrating. We take care of the front of our house. We have neighbors who pull in or our in their cars and dump their trash on the street. It gets me so mad. Have some respect and throw it in a barell. And that is scary about leaving the pools filled up. We did that once at my mother in laws when my daughter was a baby and found a baby squirrell floating the next day!

I thank God I haven't gotten any tickets since I've lived in this city and been driving (9 years now). I still think the parking enforcement program is a joke however. Just a political job you get if you kiss enough a$$ in this city pretty much.
