Well, Thursday is pay day at City Hall. Will the employees get paid? The pay period covers last week's work. Next week all the union raises will be paid out for this week's work. Is it FY07 or FY08? Or is it the Twilight Zone? I also believe hanlon will do as he pleases. |

Are you nuts? Ignoring everyone doesn't do the taxpayers any good and, although many would like to see him impeached, the reality is he'll be gone before that could be accomplished! |

City Hall is closed? Not to be naive, but do you literally mean they've locked the doors?
And the city is in financial turmoil, and Johnny-boy leaves early? Well, we all know about Nero fiddling while Rome burned . . . |

No, no, no!
What I was meant was that it was after 7:30 p.m. and closed for the day. |

I haven't heard anything yet today but as of 10:30 yesterday morning there were no scheduled meetings for the CC or the BOA. |

Well . . . that's not good. I thought I understood from the meeting Friday night that the plan was to call a special meeting for Thursday night. If they didn't post it yesterday, then because of the holiday, if they post today, doesn't that put them outside of the 48 hour window required for posting a public meeting? |

I just checked the cities web site, there is nothing there but that doesn't mean anything, they don't update that often enough. I'll try to make some calls and see if I can find anything out. I must be driving some of these guys nuts. |

Just spoke to an Alderman, no meetings scheduled this week as far as he knows. |

The understanding I have, is that the mayor needs to schedule the meeting to present the 1/12th budget to the city council. The Alderman did not just tell me that. That is the way I, myself, understand how this thing is supposed to go. |

I believe that part of it is true; however, they also still need to meet to complete the budget process. Perhaps they're awaiting a ruling from the DOR? Also, I believe the Council can call their own meeting if they obtain enough signatures from the membership. Why not do that, finish the budget, and ask the mayor to appear and present his 1/12th budget at the same time?
The time for political posturing is over. Let's get on with this. |

I know a great many phone calls went into the DOR yesterday. Citizen, you are probably right and they are waiting for a ruling. If they are in a 1/12th budget, don't they have 3 months to get this thing done? |
