My kids only complaint is that the lunch times and time allowed to eat doesn't work. They say that by the time they get their food there is no time left to eat. They said the lines are too long and it takes forever to get their food. Also, does anyone know why they can't have water with them when they are in between classes. Kinda strange. |

Mr. Baldi? He has been there for years. And my kids had the same complaint about lunch. My youngest does not bother to get anything. The water issue may be because they are not supposed to have food or drink in between class.

Sally I know that this is sad but, my daughter told me she witnessed a teacher taking water away from a girl in the hall that was visibly 8-9 months pregnant. There has to be some allowances, don't you think? I haven't heard anything about Mr Baldi and Coach Dib so far. |

Well Lynda if you want my honest opinion, the pregnant girls get enough special treatment at that school. They get tutors at home when they have their kids. I am sorry but they should not be treated any differently. What sort of message does that send. I know there are exceptions, but my feelings are they should have waited until they were out of high school to have their children. We could not have food or drinks in school as kids and we survived. I say they should be as strict as they were in our day and there would be less problems up there. My daughter informed me that one of her classmates is 15 and has been married for a year to her 34 year old husband!!! She has a 10 year old step son. Chances are she will be pregnant soon. I am hoping they can arrest her perverted husband for child rape.

I agree with just about everything you Sally however, we do have to give her some credit for having the child and not aborting. And about the married child in your daughters class uh WHAT that would be against the law wouldn't it? The parents would have had to signed off on this poor child for her to marry at such a young age. Someone should put the parents in jail as well as this 34 year old pervert. |

Now that the new high school has been opened for a month, how is everything going up there? |

I guess when they are married in their homeland it is not against the law. @@ And the new high school is "like a jail" according to my kids LOL Sounds good to me. The only problem I have so far is there are no computers in the computer class and the kids get in trouble for talking. What are they supposed to do? They have to pass the class t graduate and there are no computers. I think that should have been first on the punch list. I also heard one of those huge 500 pound boards that are in the classes fell onto a teacher and injured her pretty bad.

Mine said the same Jail statement. I did attend the open house at the school the other evening and must say I was very impressed. It is nice. I just hope it stays that way. There were many computers in the library, other than that I don't know. My kids also told me of the "smart board" coming down on a teacher and hospitalizing her. They hadn't gotten a update on how she is doing. Those things look heavy and they are very large. I don't know if anyone out here has seen how they work but I must say it is cool. Technology... wow... gotta love it! |

I for one would like to Thank Mr. Ragucci for a Great School for the kids of Everett. At least they can now feel safe, as can I as a parent, when learning in the "jail". |

Tails . . . first of all, tell us what mistakes Ragucci made with the new high school.
Secondly, the mayor, no matter who is he, has nothing to do with who attends the public schools and he/she certainly has nothing to do with who makes the football team. For that complaint, take it to your school committee members.
It's really time for people to move past Ragucci.

I too would like to be made aware of the mistakes made at the High School and would love to be informed on how it is the previous Mayors fault. |

Welcome back Superintendent of Schools Fred Foresteire is back after being out for a few weeks with a medical issue. The issue has been taken care of but not without its difficulties. Suffice to say, Foresteire is pleased to be back, and grateful, too. Those of us who value him as a friend, are pleased he is back. We wish him good health in the years to come. No one in city government does a better job than him. INDEPENDENT NEWS PAPER
