| Sally....I saw the gentleman - not a bruise on him....and don't forget, we had Taylor reporting he had 2 black eyes. So - you can believe what you hear - or what you see. I'm going with what I saw. |

Well my Uncle saw the incident, he was there, so I am going with him. Maybe he did not have black eyes, but there was a fight.

Does this all matter now? No.
If the city and the people are going to repair,unite,overcome,etc...
Then it starts with one. One person to say stop.One person to say lets move forward.
This board has had alot of great discussions without the BS from certain individuals. Where can we, as bloggers take this? We can rise above it, for are we not adults? We all have the ability to make the right decision, God gave us that gift. WHO will use that gift? WHO will squander it?

Then find out what establishment it was in, Sally, because it was not in the one previously discussed here.
And I think it's time we all moved on from this . . . Carlo is in, Joe is out. We have to start looking forward. |

Either Joe is the biggest con artist of all times or I am one of the most naïve people in the City and deserve to be conned. I supported Joe throughout his campaign, attended his workers meetings and attended his gathering at the Silver Fox on election night.
Every time Joe spoke to his supporters, he was completely humbled by the dedicated individuals who were in the room. Let’s face it. There isn’t one of us who either contribute to this forum or sign on and read the postings, who don’t have personal issues and skeletons in our closet. Prior to becoming involved in his campaign, I had no clue as to what Joe McGonagle was like except for the times that I watched the BOA meetings. The reason I joined his campaign was due to the fact that I was unhappy with the current administration. Initially, Joe was the only one in the City who pulled papers to campaign for Mayor. Of course, I would join his campaign – not because I was a former member of the Ragucci or the Hanlon administration, but because he offered a way out of the mess we were in. If Carlo had jumped on board first, I would have joined his campaign.
I will not get into here whether or not I felt the campaign between Carlo and Joe was negative. It really doesn’t matter anymore. That is all in the past and nothing can be changed. What I will state is that Joe was positive and upbeat at every meeting I attended and he was always a gentleman. We can no longer place blame on the Ragucci or the Hanlon administration. Joe lost the race – Carlo won. It is what it is. We as residents must “Move Forward” to “A New Beginning” and help our elected officials put our City back on the right track. Less than 8000 residents went to the polls. Many of our elected officials ran unopposed. That is a disgrace for a City this size.
I also hope that differences can be set-aside on this forum and valid issues will once again be discussed in a positive manner.

There have been very good points made....but where does Mr. McGonagle go to get his reputation back? We've had individuals out here posting that he was brutalized in a bar fight, complete with black eyes. Masterful1 - Mr. McGonagle's elderly mother was called with this information, as well as others. Now we have someone who has stated that her uncle witnessed the bar fight...which would be fine, except the evidence (the blackeyes, etc) aren't in evidence. So, I'm with Citizen - what's the name of the bar? Because it doesn't appear to have been The Derby.
Masterful1, Fedup, I am happy to move on once we get to the bottom of this "fight." - because it matters. |

I certainly understand your concern Court, but I sincerely doubt we’re ever going to know the truth or be able to identify it as such. It really is time to walk away.
Joe will regain his reputation and disprove wrongful accusations by his actions going forward. It’s in his hands and rehashing it here, or anyplace else, isn’t going to do anything except keep it alive and continue the speculation.

I think you are correct. My husband recalls him saying he was in a bar on Chelsea Street. He did not give the name.
