When I read just wondering's post I thought s/he was talking about Mayor DeMaria. Glad to see s/he is giving Mayor Hanlon the credit he deserves on this one.

It certainly didn't come across that way. This doesn't sound like you were referring to the "office of the mayor." It sounded like you were talking about a specific mayor.

Why would you be talking about any mayor, when you were talking about the sale of the Devens? That makes no sense.

Know what, none of this bull really matters.

The real question is, legally, can this go forward? It appears MGL was not followed.

Come on massdee...you appear intelligent, don't dumb yourself down for the sake of disagreeing with me.
My posts apply to any Mayors office and the sale of any city property.....but you knew that already.

It also appears that the BoA and CC disagree with your opinion that MGL was not followed. Maybe they have
a better understanding of the applicable laws than you do? Sometimes quoting MGL isn't as black and white
as you like to think. Sometimes you need to do some research to see how the law has been applied in the past.

Your disdain for the current administration becomes less veiled as the months go by. It must really eat you up inside that your guy didn't win. Question for you.....had he won, what would your role have been in his administration?

I read the commentary in todays paper. It sounds to me that the city didn't follow protocol with Mass. General Laws. I guess there is a difference between a bid and a proposal. Why didn't the city's legal department pick this up? We are paying our new solicitor the big bucks. Things like this shouldn't slip through the cracks.

correct...."Mayor" Hanlon....I'm not trying to give Carlo for it...I'm just pointing out that it's the job of any Mayors Office to cultivate development and the city council's job to sanity check and ratify his decision. Leave it to the ordinances and zoning laws to keep the developer in check

It would appear to me that you are trying to blame former Mayor Hanlon.

Shocking....tails saw something that APPEARED to be there, but wasn't

My commentary was directed towards the process of finding development, approving developing and living with developed projects. I used the Deven's School as a current example of everyones role in the project. I couldn't care any less about which mayor championed that particular development.

The important part you overlooked is that everyone appears to want that particular project to happen.....we should let the zoning laws, appeals board and current city ordinances take it from here.

What's with item 25 and why was that conveniently put on the calendar? Marcus never wanted to hear about it.

Item #4, Another campaign supporter being appointed to a position.

Item #5, Who is being appointed, did I miss something?

Item #6, Mr Carlisle will be the Budget Director and the Purchasing Agent. Why am I not surprised? Is that a new title Director of Budget and management?

Item #17 Should be interesting to hear if they have figured out a way to control the Ferry Street flower seller.

Item #25, What can I say. I am hoping Marcus wasn't asked to put this on the agenda as damage control after the last Common Council meeting. I hope our elected officials ask for a community meeting to be held on this issue. I think the residents would like to add their input. I also hope they ask the Mayor the tough questions. This one is just too important.

Item #7, We will probably need this if the Woodwaste relocation happens.
